Walking on sunshine
I can actually say with confidence that I had a good day today. The sun came out and peeked into our office and it felt wonderful. I was on a natural high.
To get a taste of how giddy I was feeling, here is an excerpt from my G-chat conversation with Michael today:
Even better, work did not kick my ass today. The editorial board is FINALLY cutting back on the amount of articles we need to write and I feel like I can breathe again. This is good news — I was seriously ready to put in my two weeks notice on Monday, without having another job lined up. I figured I’d just get myself out of a bad situation first and then deal with finding a job.
Work conditions are not nearly as aversive now, though, thank god. I think that my working relationship with the editor girl are now less tense. She volunteered to bring me a “treat” tomorrow, so I asked for an Energy vitamin water. It’s nice that she’s making the effort.
I’m still actively applying for new situations, but at least I don’t feel like I have to rush into (or out of) anything.
Michael’s at the Mariners-Rangers game right now, which is currently tied up at 1-1. I’ve been enjoying my time to myself. Out of curiosity, I googled my name today. I feel like I’m becoming semi-famous! Some of my NuWire articles are being circulated around on blogs and news sites everywhere.
I found some lip service to be particularly interesting:
Rentomatic posted my article about them on their press site.
I don’t know who Katie is, but she liked my Portland article enough to post “Great Article About Portland Real Estate Market.“
I just thought this was funny: “This afternoon I was interviewed by Melana Yanos, a writer for NuWire Investor, an online newsletter and website with information about investing in everything from real estate and precious metals to green investing and bed and breakfast inns. She already penned one article about B&Bs and wanted to follow it up with some insight into wedding venues and inns. She asked some great questions, which are worth talking about.”
(Mr. Scherman, the author of the above blog, is referring to my article called Turning Inns into Wedding Venues, in which he is quoted.)
My article about Trump got mentioned in the Tampa discussion board on Skyscrapercity.com.
Lastly, my recent article about diamonds got absolutely picked apart by the Diamond Guru. That’s okay, I don’t pretend to know very much about diamonds anyways. Or any investments, for that matter!
Goodness, I began writing this a while ago when the Mariners were tied at 1-1 and now they’re down 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th inning! Ichiro is up with one man in scoring position and two outs …
… and he lines it right into the shortstop’s glove. Oh well!
Tomorrow I need to write about my carpool buddy, can’t forget! It’s important.

Holy crap love! I’m so proud of you! I read some of your stuff, you are excellent!!! A big pat on the back and a big cookie for you
Keep up the great work.
